Architecture Sector Expertise
In 2023 Poynton Bradbury celebrated half a century of creating iconic designs.
We are the creative designers behind many of the buildings people use and see across the Westcountry and beyond its borders.
Our team of highly experienced architects work on large scale construction projects across a range of industries including conservation and heritage, later living and care, arts and culture, leisure and hospitality, higher education, and workplaces.
Our conservation and heritage services include the repair, alteration, and reuse of historic and listed buildings in both the public and private sectors. Cornish conservation projects include the King Edward Mine in Camborne, St John’s Hall, and the Jubilee Pool (both in Penzance), the Wheal Martyn Clay Works Museum in St Austell, and other regional landmarks.
We have also created successful, sustainable spaces for arts and culture since we started in 1973. Upgrading and remodeling existing spaces or creating something entirely new. We design buildings and spaces that inspire, educate, and entertain people, whilst fostering a strong sense of community.
Multiple large-scale projects have included designs for further and higher education where we have assisted in the development of long-term campus enlargement plans, new build, refurbishment, and maintenance of existing teaching facilities.
We also have extensive experience in healthcare design which includes primary, secondary and tertiary care, strategic master planning, mental healthcare, community, and social care, as well as private healthcare.
Over the past 50 years, we have amassed a huge portfolio of projects including designing specialist housing and care settings, ranging from small specialist dementia care homes to large retirement villages.
We work across all tenures and for a diverse group of clients including private developers, care providers, charities, local authorities, and housing associations.
As well as creating new inspirational buildings, we breathe life into old buildings with functionality and sustainability at the forefront of our designs.
